Melanie Martin is originally from Tallahassee, Florida where she studied dance (West African, Tap, Jazz, Modern & Ballet) and acting since the age of four. She went on to receive a degree from Hampton University in Mass Media with an Advertising emphasis and in Theater. Melanie was then seen on a show tour for Mama Dee's Girls with Jennifer Holliday, Ali Woodson, Cherelle, Phillip Michael Thomas and took a break to study modern dance with The Urban Bush Women company of New York. Melanie then danced in the company of African Caribbean Dance Theater (ACDT) in Florida. She went on to study at the prestigious American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, CA.
